Sweet Victory for Sweethoven Biotech at Germany’s Leading Biotech Networking Event
Our start-up project Sweethoven Biotech had the honor of being part of Germany’s premier biotech networking event – and we’re beyond excited to share that we returned with not one, but two incredible awards:

🎤 Audience Award (with a whopping 55% of all votes) at the session “New Kids on the Block in Industrial Biotech – Pitches of Young Start-Ups”
These recognitions mean the world to us – not only as a confirmation of our scientific and entrepreneurial vision, but also as a powerful encouragement from the biotech community. Competing alongside so many inspiring young ventures made this an unforgettable experience. The fact that both a top-tier jury and the audience chose to spotlight Sweethoven Biotech shows that our mission resonates.
But we didn’t come to Heidelberg empty-handed.
Alongside our pitch, we brought a small but meaningful piece of our innovation: a batch of our sweet fiber, freshly produced through the successful upscaling of our enzymatic process. We wanted people not just to hear about our concept, but to taste the future of prebiotic, sustainable sweetness.
So we packed one hundred wooden spoons – and let’s just say, not a single one made it back to the Rhineland. From curious tastings to excited follow-up questions, the response was overwhelming. We spoke with nutrition experts, food technologists, investors, and fellow scientists – all of whom echoed the same sentiment: the time for healthier, gut-friendly sugar alternatives is now.
These awards are a milestone, but also just the beginning. We’re more motivated than ever to push forward: scaling our technology, building strong partnerships, and bringing our next-gen sugar alternatives to market.
